Our First Blog Post!

How our coffee is different:
We decided to give the coffee a wine experience.
Why not?  We do so much with how grapes grow, the environment they are in, and how it is made into lovely wine(no shade on wine, I LOVE wine). Shouldn't coffee get to shine?  It isn't just the morning cure after a night of wine drinking or the workhorse each day.
Many of us would be lost without it.   And really, is there life without coffee?
We studied and focused on how coffee can be better, than what is on the store shelves.
Don't get me wrong some are doing better than others.  We decided if you really are going to drink coffee every day, all day long, it better be high-quality.
Spending time with my nose in the books, and working with fellow coffee experts, importers, roasters, and farmers; we believe we have found something that is not only high quality but is low acidic.  No one likes a sour stomach.
Even our Decaf is water processed.  No chemicals to remove the caffeine.  Thank mother nature for that.  Makes you wonder why we started using chemicals in the first place?  Hmm, I think I need to hit the books some more, lol.

Not only is our coffee organic, and not chemically treated to preserve it, it comes from sustainable small farms and fair-traded.  What does fair trade mean?  Fair wages, ethical treatment of farmers and their teams.  We don't infringe on the work they do, and we pay a proper price for it.  This boosts social and environmental treatments. Fair is fair right?
Many people had to give up their morning joe due to gut health, and many have commented that this coffee saved them. They now can drink a cup and enjoy once again! That is the best praise we could ask for.
We are also in the heavy throws of connection with charities/causes that are about action and scale-able work. We don't want to be all talk and no action here. In order to be the change you have to be about the change. Our Café Femenino is working with Café Femenino Foundation that supports women coffee growers. Its about women getting out of poverty and providing for their families. That is something I fully support. So each roast will have its own cause that we feel is putting the work behind their words and is better the world around us.
I think this painted a nice picture of who we are as a company as we start down this journey. We hope you will join us.  If it painted an ugly one well, benefit of using blank canvas, we can always start over.
Cheers,
Jill
